NAROWAL, June 16: Hubco power generation plant which is situated about 12 kilometres away from Narowal has stopped its production due to shortage of oil supply.

The plant has been shut down for the last five days. The oil-supply company has stopped supply to the plant due to alleged non-payment of its bills.

A number of oil tankers are parked outside the company for the last one week. Delay in filling the tankers with oil is causing hardships to the drivers and helpers of these vehicles because of unavailability of shelter and food.

The crew of 123 tankers demanded that the authorities resolve the issue at the earliest so as to enable them to resume their work.

Loadshedding duration has increased in and around Narowal due to shutdown of the power plant. The citizens have demanded that regular electricity supply to the residential localities be restored at the earliest.
